Machi★Asobi Vol. 16 has attracted cosplayers from all over the world, and the event is held in Tokushima, a city where the Hyoutan river runs by. The city is also home to ufotable, the anime studio responsible for both Fate/Zero and Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works (TV), so add the element of cosplay, the Hyoutan River, the city being the home of the Fate anime, and an anime event, and you get a paddle boarding Lancer!
This Paddle Boarding Cú Chulainn Lancer has stolen the show during Machi★Asobi Vol. 16, with many of the people in Tokushima cheering him on. I guess that Gae Bolg of his ain’t just for stabbing himself things. I guess this makes him eligible to be summoned as a Rider-class servant as well…
And when he is not showing off his paddle boarding skills, good’ol Lancer can be seen on dry land posing for the cameras, just like the other cosplayers.
Tokushima is one of the most hallowed cities for anime tourists in Japan, and every spring and autumn, the city hosts Machi★Asobi, which is considered one of Japan’s most popular anime festivals. The event is organized by none other than ufotable studio head, Hikaru Kondo, whose studio is responsible for hit anime like Fate/ Zero, Fate/ Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works (TV), and the God Eater TV anime. The event attracts visitors from all over Japan, and more recently, from other parts of the world.
You can check out how the cosplay show was going as well as many other information about thisgreat anime festival at the Machi★Asobi Official Website (http://machi-cosplay.sunnyday.jp/wp/en/). This is a must-watch for anyone thinking of an anime-focused trip to Japan. It is currently being held until May 6, 2016 in Tokushima.
