A decade after the third season has ended, and after the success of the Ai: Tenchi Muyo series, Tenchi Masaki is back with a “fourth season,” which is titled Tenchi Muyo! Ryo Ohki Dai-yon-ki. New announcements have been made about this new anime by the series’ official website, which also reveals a new key visual image:
The key visual is done by the series’ original character designer, Masaki Kajishima, who certainly brings some old school feel into the anime. Kajishima will not only return as the character designer, but he is also credited as the new anime’s original creator and chief director, with Hidetoshi Takahashi serving as the director, and Studio AIC handling the animation.
This new Tenchi Muyo “season” is actually a series of OVA and not a TV anime, and the official website has announced that the first OVA is scheduled to be released in Fall 2016. Tenchi Muyo! Ryou Ohki is a series of spin-off OVAs for Tenchi Muyo! which had its first series launched being launched between 1992 and 1993, the second series being launched between 1994 and 1995, and the third series being launched between 2003 and 2005, which was a decade ago.
