The Anime Expo 2014 in Los Angeles, California has certainly proven itself worthy to be called the biggest anime convention in America, and Japanese anime website animeanime.jp has once again compiled cosplay images from the event’s third day. A special Kill la Kill event was also held which was so successful that tickets became sold out.
The the cosplays from Day One and Day Two, the costumes ranged from great and awesome to just plain weird and wacky. Street Fighter, Danganronpa, Marvel, The Legend of Zelda, Madoka Magica, League of Legends, Pokemon, Kill la Kill, and even Domo-kun were featured in the event’s day three cosplays and many have truly turned some heads.
Kill la Kill is one of the most popular anime series in the United States right now and when Trigger organized a special event during the Anime Expo 2014, it comes to no surprise that the show would be sold out.
The tickets for the special event costed US$35.00 and US$45.00 in addition to the Anime Expo admission itself. The special event involved some of Kill la Kill’s anime staff including Ryuuko’s Japanese voice actress, Ami Koshimizu and character designer Sushio. But perhaps the biggest draw of the event was the appearance of Japanese singer Eir Aoi who sang the anime’s OP song. She performed live on stage and then said that she wants to come back to Los Angeles soon.
