DDNavi has once again taken to the streets of the Japanese otaku capital of Akihabara and asked its anime otaku (Ani-ota) populace a question, and this time, they asked which character voiced by Seiyu (voice actress) Kanae Itou do they think is the best one there is.
Just like their polls asking which characters voiced by Yoko Hikasa, Rina Hidaka, and Yuka Iguchi, they asked 100 of Akihabara’s Anime Otaku and here is what they had to say:
5) Amu Hinamori (Shugo Chara)
Considered Kanae Itou’s first major role, this character gave her her much needed breakthrough in the voice actor industry as Kanae’s voice acting as Amu has given her much praise from fans and critics alike. This shy and kindhearted lass named Amu has been adored by fans all over the world she is is often seen as tough on the outside yet soft and gentle on the inside.
4) Nana Astar Deviluke (To Love-Ru)
This twin-tailed, flat-chested, tsundere alien princess is the complete and exact opposite of her much more strait forward twin sister (with a much larger chest), Momo, but that does not stop fans from loving her as Nana takes the #4 spot. She can control animals and speak with them, and like them, she can be pretty wild herself. She would often abuse Rito, the main character, but if you know tsunderes, that’s just how they show their love.
3) Elucia de Lute Ima/ Elsie (The World God Only Knows)
This loving little demon may be a klutz and is often useless according to Keima, but she just adores her beloved “Kami-nii-sama”. Entrusted to assist and watch over the “Capturing God” Keima, her blunders have often almost costed him not only the mission, but also his life, but then again, many find her being a klutz very adorable. Because she is often considered useless and a ditz, other demons would often look down on her, yet they will often be surprised when they find her current track record of runaway spirits captured is right at the top (all thanks to her much reliable partner, though she has her moments).
2) Sena Kashiwazaki (Haganai)
If Shugo Chara’s Amu is Kanae Itou’s star-making role, then Good ol’ “MEAT” may just be her most iconic. This often-perverted gamer has struck a chord with many anime fans as she is often seen as the “popular girl” on the outside, but on the inside, she is a friendless loner. Lucky for her, the Neighbors Club is around to save her from that loneliness. This strait A student also provides a very good balance between her studies, club activities, and her passion for eroges which make her even more popular to anime fans the world over. Nicknamed “Meat”, she is also well known for her um… chest which has become the butt of the joke for much of the series (for Yozora at least).
1) Ruiko Saten (A Certain series)
Pulling the rug from right underneath the heavily-favored Sena is Saten who accomplished the mild upset thanks to her determination and lovable, care-free attitude. Sure, she may be a Level 0, but she has endeared so many fans just by being who she is. Known for flipping poor Uiharu’s skirt in public, she is also considered a bit of a pervert by some fans, and Uiharu’s complaining does not even faze her. She may be the only “normal” person in the railgun group but she makes it up with her sheer attitude alone and that may be the reason she is #1.
