Fans play Sword Art Online using Oculus Rift [video]

It has been said that the Oculus Rift will be the one to pave the way for a world like Sword Art Online to really come to life. During the Anime Expo 2014, in Los Angeles, California, VR Oculus, the company responsible for developing the Oculus Rift, has made a demonstration and they gave lucky fans a chance to truly get inside the virtual world of SAO.

The demonstration was made with the help of Bandai Namco games which developed the Sword Art Online games for the PS Vita. The lucky fans who got a chance to play teamed up with Asuna to take on one boss character, as well as explore the world of Aincrad. Here is Kirito already getting his game on. Link Start!

A video of the demonstration was even uploaded via youtube.

Who knows? Maybe in the future, the VRMMOs featured in Sword Art Online like SAO, Alfheim Online (ALO), and Gun Gale Online (GGO) would become a reality in the future, and Oculus Rift may be developed further to make that virtual reality a reality.
