Shojo manga "Akatsuki no Yona" gets anime adaptation

The 15th issue of Hana to Yume published by Hakusensha is announcing that the shojo manga Akatsuki no Yona will get adapted into a TV anime. The romance epic fantasy manga is by Mizuho Kusanagi and was serialised in 2009.


The story revolves around Yona, the only princess of a vast kingdom. She was raised in luxury by her adoring father and is protected by her servant and childhood friend Hak. Tides turn on her 16th birthday when her favorite cousin Soo-won kills her father to ascend the throne. Yona flees with Hak from the castle and start a new life in a town.
